Here we have a 5" gauge Class 37 Diesel (battery electric). A bit of a hybrid project this one, where the noses and lid are commercially made fiberglass moldings, but the sides are home fabrications. Some nice details on the bogies, which again appear to be Dan Jeavons castings modified with a motor and drive belt arrangement to the builders preference. It's been a runner, and comes with the batteries that were fitted, but should be considered a project loco rather than fully sorted and running, as we haven't got the time here to sit down with it to suss out what all the wires do and what needs to plug back into what! Friends of the builder who've seen the model run, and were party to the build say it's extremely powerful and a good runner.
As with most of our models, what you see isn't necessarily what you get!
We often photograph models pretty much as they come in to us, and then when someone phones to say they are interested we pull the model into our workshops and make sure everything is tested, sorted and ready to go. So if you see the odd model photograph with a fitting missing or a return crank in the wrong place, that's just how it came in and certainly not how it will leave.
